First- Of- Its- Kind Product Takes Over California And New Jersey Beaches With Bi-Coastal Launch
Introduction of Must-Have Summer Product at Zack’s Pier Plaza in Huntington, CA June 1st with Belmar, NJ Boardwalk Reopening Celebration June 7th
COSTA MESA, CA – May 31, 2013 – D6 Sports, distributor and manufacturer of sporting goods focusing on the action sports and wheeled categories, today announced the debut of its first product, the SurfSkimmer, an innovative skimboard with gripper technology designed to give kids a chance to skim and advance quickly within minutes on the water.
“We are proud to announce the arrival of our first product, the SurfSkimmer,” said Jeff Balaban, Senior Vice President, D6 Sports. “We have licensed brands and produced incredible sporting goods for many years, but to unveil our very own product that also happens to fall in to a new category in action sports is very exciting to us.”
Debuting for public test runs at Zack’s Pier Plaza in Huntington Beach on June 1st, the SurfSkimmer offers kids a hands-on skimboard experience that is both fun and safe. The SurfSkimmer is designed with gripper technology, a stable handle and sleek design allowing the board to glide effortlessly over the white wash giving kids the opportunity to experiment and excel in skimboarding. The handle easily comes off so each board has the ability to act as a traditional skimboard. The 2-in-1 functionality allows for easy learning and advanced maneuvers.
D6 Sports will also join over 40 women from Social Media Moms and New Jersey Digital Moms at the #JerseyLove Retreat in Belmar, NJ June 7th. Coming from all over the country, the moms will convene for the first time ever to utilize their social reach to help raise awareness for and promote the reopening of the Jersey Shore for the 2013 summer season. Now that the official ceremonies are over, the women want to document real families, moms and kids having fun to show the world that the Jersey Shore is still a great place to vacation and visit. They will do this by experiencing it in real life and telling their stories virtually on a myriad of social media platforms.
“I am a New Jersey native who has, literally, hundreds of friends and family members who were affected by Sandy so when we learned of this event, we had to get involved,” said Ben Young, Vice President of Creative and Marketing for D6 Sports. “We have partnered with Eastern Lines Surf Shop to treat the moms to surf and stand up paddleboard lessons, while we introduce kids to the new SurfSkimmer. After the event, we will donate several boards to the local shops so people can continue to enjoy the beach all summer.”
D6 Sports and the #JerseyLove Retreat moms will also present Mayor Matt Doherty with a donation to the Belmar Relief and Recovery foundation that was created to assist displaced families and help rebuild the Belmar Boardwalk after Superstorm Sandy.

 Little Passports, A Global Adventure

A Review of Little Passports, A Global Adventure from a Teacher & a Mom to a 5 year old child.
Direct from my daughter, “I love it a lot and want to have one hundred more of Little Passports and Sam and Sofia sending me things from their adventures in other countries!” “It is a very good learning for all the kids that their moms and dads can teach them.” “And, it’s good for them to learn things.” There you have it folks….straight from my 5 year old. This programs receives her seal of approval and what better way to know if a program is worth your money and time, especially a program that is a monthly monetary and time commitment, than to get the kid approval.
So, I received this program to review a few months ago, but I needed to see a few countries (a couple months worth before felt comfortable to review) not just the initial program which included the suitcase and introduction from the 10 year old children who take the adventures, Sam & Sofia, to really be able to review it with an honest opinion. I based my review on how my daughter and I interacted with the program, learned from the program, how much interest was sparked to learn more and as well as how much we enjoyed the program. I have to say, I’m impressed. My daughter and I sat down this morning and I introduced Sofia & Sam to her, the darling little suitcase to store all the trinkets, letters, map and passport they sent.
After introducing the suitcase, passport and Sofia & Sam I gave her the first package from Brazil. I do recommend the company send the first country with the introduction package because my daughter was excited to get started, if they don’t do that already with their paying customers (Like I mentioned, we received this item to review for the parents and children). I’m glad we didn’t have to wait for Brazil to arrive, because it may have made the experience a little less exciting…almost like here is this really cool program, but I don’t have a country to show you how it really works.
Each month the package contains: a letter from Sofia & Sam explaining what country they are in and some interesting information about the country with a real photo of that point of interest, a sticker of the country to put on their suitcase, a pushpin sticker to place on the map to indicate which country their new pen pals wrote from, a flag sticker of the country for their little passport, some sort of trinket from the country (we received an Amethyst rock from a mine in the Amazon Rain Forest from Brazil in our first country package), a boarding pass with a secret access code to play fun games in the Boarding Zone area of www.LittlePassports.com and a page of activities (one of the activities tells you what country the new pen pals are going to be visiting next month).
You can choose from the World Edition or the USA Edition!
There are many choices as far as what you would like to order and pay for. You can pay for a year in advance $131.40 or signup for a year and pay $10.95 monthly or pay monthly for $1 more each month ($11.95). Also, you can choose less months. Check out the website for the most up to date pricing and your options.
 Strawberry Shortcake
Berry Friends Forever Review
Strawberry Shortcake: Berry Friends Forever Released March 5, 2013
When the very formal Berry Bitty Buggy Derby is revived, the girls are unfamiliar with the traditional behavior for the event. Blueberry starts off as the resident expert, but eventually gets so obsessed with manners she does more harm than good. In the end, the girls work together and learn the true meaning of being BFF’s or Berry Friends Forever.
My little one watched it twice in a row she was so excited!! She loved this new release and I thought it was another great movie that taught my daughter more important life lessons! Thumbs up Strawberry & Friends!!! Keep it the good work!
Win Disney on Ice Tickets & One of Hallmark’s New Recordable Storybook!
The Wish My Heart Makes For You Recordable Book
Experience the magical world of Disney any day at home with Hallmark’s newest Disney Recordable Storybook titles, including “The Wish My Heart Makes for You” and “You’re a Hero! All the Ways You Save the Day.” And to bring the enchantment of Disney Recordable Storybooks to life, Hallmark is sponsoring the Disney on Ice tour hitting cities across the nation, including the Philadelphia area!
Hallmark’s Recordable Storybook didn’t fit in the advent calendar, so I got creative and used pom poms from our craft supplies and placed a note inside Day 1 letting her know to follow the pom poms to her first advent gift.
I chose to review, “The Wish My Heart Makes for You” recordable storybook (beautifully written, inspirational story any parent would be honored to give to a child) and I gave it to my daughter for her first advent calendar gift (see photo above). I love reading her stories from my heart and the fact that she can pick up this storybook and hear her Me reading a heartfelt story to her even when I’m not around, she’s visiting other family or I’m around and doing the dishes…lol makes me feel even more like the best mom in the world!
I personalized my recording for her by adding a little special message in the beginning of the story letting her know when & why I gifted her this exact book and again at the end of the story to remind her just how much I loved her. You can add your own personalized messages like I did or just simply read the story. This is my second Hallmark recordable storybook I have recorded for my daughter. I love giving them to her. I know this is morbid…but sometimes I think, what if something tragically happened to me and my time here on Earth was cut short…I feel warmth in my heart knowing she will still be able to hear her Mama’s voice reading her a story long after my journey on Earth has ended. To be honest…that’s the main reason I’m so in love with these recordable storybooks.

NATIONAL ADHD AWARENESS WEEK: 10-14 to 10-21, 2012
Local Family Uses Halloween Trick to Reduce Stigma and Myths of AD/HD
National campaign aims to make America ADHD Aware
MEDIA RELEASE:
A local family is participating in a nationwide campaign this Halloween to help dispel myths and raise awareness about ADHD, a disease that affects more than 10 million Americans, including millions of children.
Many Americans think that ADHD is caused, or made worse, by the consumption of refined sugar and candy. According to the National Institutes of Mental Health, “the idea that refined sugar causes ADHD or makes symptoms worse is popular, but more research
discounts this theory than supports it.”
According to ADHD Aware Founder Natalie Knochenhauer, Halloween provides a great opportunity to dispel this myth and educate people that ADHD is a serious disease of the brain. The organization is doing that by asking parents to distribute small, Halloween-themed cards (right) along with candy on October 31. “ADHD is not caused by bad parenting or unruly kids” said Knochenhauer. “It’s a real disease that affects more than 10 million Americans. However, because people often belittle or joke about ADHD, many families are reluctant to seek a diagnosis or support for their children.”
According to Knochenhauer, distributing cards on Halloween is one small way, ADHD Aware, can reach people. Knochenhauer, a mother of four, has ADHD as do all of her children.

FACT:
ADHD ISN’T CAUSED BY
candy, sugar or bad parenting.
It’s a disease and 15 million Americans have it.
NO JOKE.
You can take their online quiz HERE and get ADHD aware.
