Storybook land amusement park outlives it’s founder, Ester Fricano (read more about the amazing life story of Ester Frianco’s creating Storybook Land and legacy here….RIP Ester.). This blog post is about all the fun we just had at Storybook Land, which looks like it was gingerly placed in the Forrest, says one Mom in the park. This New Jersey amusement park located close by the New Jersey shores is perfect for a day trip. It is easy to see everything at this 60 year old park (yup Storybook Land is celebrating its 60 birthday this year and a prominent birthday cake is front and center when you enter the park) is kept new looking with regular updating and lots of artistic creativity that one would expect from a park based off of children’s literature. To celebrate Storybook Land’s 60th Birthday there will be a parade, character meet & greet and more from noon – 4pm July 11 & 12. Once you buy your tickets, one doesn’t feel nickel and dimed. Starting with free close parking and the ability to bring in your own food as well as the park being more about the experience than merchandising and upselling the children are less inclined to ask for sweet treats and soviegners. Of course there is tucked away shops blended in throughout the park to grab a refreshment and soviegners if you choose, but it’s not so that my child even thought to ask every few minutes as is the situstion with many other amusement parks. Out of sight, out of mind so we got to enjoy what we came for, which was the attractions and the feeling like we were surrounded by some of our favorite children’s books. No matter how many cars in parking lot, never any lines for the rides, says a local Dad.
Anyone, including our children diagnosed with sensitive skin that get Eczema induced by allergies to the sun should not find an issue at this New Jersey Amusement Park thanks to the mature trees and lanndscape that provides plenty of shade throughout this park. Storybook Land isn’t just a Summer attraction. The season opens in March with early ticket sales and passes. The Easter Bunny visits with and egg hunt, Christmas in July, Classic Car Shows, Pirates & Princess Adventure Weekend, an Alice IN Wonderland Tea Party, Trick-or-Treating and Santa’s Visit is just some of the fun planned during the season. Just to Highlight Two Off Season Events: Storybook Land also is known for its South Jersey Christmas Tradition starting mid November running through Christmas as Santa appears in his chimney 5pm, waves his magic wand and turns on over one million lights for all to enjoy the rides, attractions and snack bars. Check Storybook Land Website for Santa’s Grand Arrival Parade date/time. October 1-22nd enjoy Halloween Fun with Haystacks, Cornstalks, Pumpkins and Fall Fun at Storybook Land culminating with Trick-or-Treat Weekend where free bags are give with paid admission to the park for kids in costume. Mama Chrissy’s Backyard Is Now an Extension of the Rest of the Home
My Personal Backyard Makeover in Lambertville New Jersey by Michael Ghiggeri from Ghiggeri Environmental Gives Mama Chrissy & Daughter More Living Space to Enjoy
Michael Ghiggeri Environmental Landscaper Starts My Backyard Project
It all started when I rented this quaint house in Lambertville last Summer. Soon after I moved in, Lambertville NJ was voted as 1 of the 15 most prettiest towns in the US by Forbes Magazine. My backyard did not help Lambertville achieve this special honor. When I opened my back door I saw this….
I asked around for a reputable landscaper through all my online and offline communities and networks, and I found Michael Ghiggeri, from Ghiggeri Environmental as being highly recommended, especially as an Environmental Landscaper in New Jersey . Michael met me at our home within days of me reaching out. He listened to how I wanted to use the postage size backyard space, and he saw the potential of giving me exactly what we wanted, for the price I needed. I was amazed at how easy it was for him to look past the tall weeds, oversize bushes, broken planters, busted fence sections with various things in random locations as he started pointing out ideas right then and there to deliver exactly what my daughter & I wanted. He knew we wanted our backyard to be an extension of our home and personalities, as well as fulfill the need for my daughter and myself to play in the dirt together, planting some annuals, vegetables and spices.
Michael Ghiggeri Environmental Landscaper Works on My Backyard Project
Since our space is small, Michael suggested using a trellis for the back fence area where we can grow cucumbers and other vegetables that will grow upward on a trellis. Building it himself, saved money and we got exactly what we needed to bring the Zen feeling and the trellis fit perfectly in the space he designed for. Michael could tell from my home, personality and speaking with me that I wanted a tranquil, low maintenance, Zen backyard with comfortable living room-like furniture, a water feature, and a fire pit to roast marshmallows or keep warm on a chilly evening. The fire pit we choose can also serve as a grill or cooler. The water feature is powered by a small solar panel. If you know Lambertville, you know most of the backyards are tiny, square spaces, so I was asking for a lot in a very little space. His first order of business would be to completely clean out the backyard space of everything that had to go. As Michael is an Environmental Landscaper, it’s important for him to recycle things from job-to-job which helps him keep costs lower than competitors. For example, I needed a few more blue slates and he had some extra from another job that was removing blue slate. In return, I had to remove a big, beautiful butterfly bush, because whoever planted it in this small space, didn’t realize how big this magnificent beauty would grow. I had several butterfly bushes in my previous home that I just loved, so it was hard letting this bush go, but I’m sure Michael found a home for it in someone else’s project. I feel better knowing things removed from my backyard weren’t thrown away. I’ve always had a reverence for all things living, so throwing away a living bush would not work for me.
Michael Ghiggeri Environmental Landscaper After Images of My Backyard Project
I can’t wait for all the days my daughter and I can go out back this Spring and enjoy our new space! If you would like to hire Michael, call or email him now. He is busy, but will make time for you! Tell him you heard about him through MamasLittleHelper.org
Amazing as I watched Michael transform my weed-fest into a Zen atmosphere for me, my daughter and our guests!
Ghiggeri Environmental works in Hunterdon, Somerset, and Mercer Counties NJ, and also Bucks County PA. Serious Inquiries may contact Michael by phone at 908-399-9428 or via email at email@example.com

It was a fun filled night for the press and their children!
We got to do some fun crafts and activities prior to the show.
My kiddo LOVED being crafty and it was a great warm up for what to expect!
The show is just long enough to keep the little ones interest and it’s so entertaining! I was impressed with the Q&A session for the kids after the show. The actors go out of their way to make them feel involved. We really enjoyed it!
